Why I'm standing
I believe Rodney and Warkworth are much better served by a group of individual members who are able and prepared to sit and discuss and debate issues. A 'ticket' controlling the Board is not desirable. No more targeted rates for services that should be provided via the general rates.
My priorities
Independent, open, resilient and transparent governance. No unecessary rates. No unnecessary or unwanted targeted rates for Rodney.Transport—Appropriate available public transport, our roads being maintained and Cycling/walking.
Why me
I am a 'local' of nearly 50 years and an experienced community representative. An active member of a host of community organisations, literate, articulate, and independent. Prepared to listen discuss/debate, process and deliberate and make decisions and represent the best interests of both you and Warkworth/Rodney.

Why I'm standing
Over the past six years I have learnt how to be effective in helping communities navigate the bureaucracy that is Auckland Council to achieve their goals. This gives me immense satisfaction and is the most rewarding part of my work, and provides me with the incentive to do even more.
My priorities
Support better access to public transport and increased public transport options.Build a park and ride in Warkworth to alleviate town parking congestion and increase bus patronage.Town centre improvements including walking and cycling connections from Showgrounds to Cement Works.
Why me
I have established extensive networks, connections and key relationships with politicians at every level, and senior council staff. I'm well acquainted with the many ratepayer and citizen groups in my area, what their issues, concerns, and community aspirations are. I offer continuity and momentum.

Why I'm standing
I live in Puhoi. I believe in strong representation at local board level. Getting the "job done" and working with communities and people who want to grow the district in a positive, functional and sustainable manner. I also believe in setting goals, planning and achieving results.
My priorities
Roading, sealing, maintenance, safer roads and better communication with Auckland Transport.Parks and recreational facilities fit for the future and planned for growth.Greater connectivity across the district by public transport, cycle, walking and horse trails.
Why me
I work with charities, sports clubs, recreational and resident and ratepayer groups. I currently sit on a number of significant community organisations at committee level and by stepping up to the local board I can achieve a greater, positive impact for our Community, Puhoi, Warkworth and Rodney.

Why I'm standing
I'm running for Rodney Local Board to give voice to my generation and younger generations—we are the future. Our generation is facing critical environmental uncertainties that can't be ignored, I'm putting my hand up to help.
My priorities
Support and education around environmental sustainability and zero waste.More involvement from our teens and young families in shaping our parks and public facilities.Ongoing support for our local businesses, social enterprises and non-government organisations.
Why me
I love this community, every decision I make throughout my various volunteer and professional roles; is made whole heartedly and with the best intentions. As a mum with two young children I want to see the very best for our place and our people.
