Why I'm standing
I think that local government is at the front line of service to communities, and regional councils have responsibilities that cover the most interesting and challenging issues, such as public transport, climate change, environmental quality, freshwater quality, clean safe bulk drinking water, protecting native species, and coping with disasters.
My priorities
Fix the bus network, because bus commuters have every right to expect a service on time, every time.Bold action on climate change: zero carbon emissions by 2030, because worst environmental problem.Coping with disasters, because earthquakes, floods, rising sea levels impact on our whole community.
Why me
I am very committed to serving people and communities. I have had previous experience as NZ's Secretary for the Environment and Secretary for Local Government, Chief Executive of Porirua City Council and international experience as Chair of the Paris-based OECD Environment Committee. I understand how governments work at all levels.

Why I'm standing
I am running because our elected officials have stopped listening to the people and are not making good decisions on their behalf. I love my city and region. I am in a position to repay the good fortune I have enjoyed in life. It is time for a change.
My priorities

Why me
I would make a good representative because I am not a career politician hamstrung by Party dogma, orders or interests. I am not a celebrity politician either. I am one of you. If you vote for me I will listen and act for you for the next three years.

Why I'm standing
I'm running for election to transform the organisational culture at our council. Buses aren't the problem; they are merely symptoms of a poor organisational culture which leads to flawed decision-making, resulting in perverse outcomes for Wellingtonians. With 13 councillors true to my five values, we can change the organisational culture.
My priorities
Transform the organisational culture at our regional council as it needs to respond to our needs.Deliver an improved bus service for Wellingtonians as their lives have been unnecessarily disrupted.Help people of Wellington region to prepare for natural disasters as survival is the only option.
Why me
Because I stand for these five values of a representative democracy: consultation; collaboration; transparency; accountability; responsibility. Because my platform is to change the organisational culture at our council to one where these five values are embedded into the DNA of the organisation. Because I'll be measured by what I do.
